What Went Into the House

95 deep-recessed downlights at 4000K: 65 with a wide flood beam for general light, 30 with a spot beam for walls, art and counters.
91 trimless four-light linear fittings set flush into the ceiling on calcium silicate boards, so only the light shows, not a frame. All tunable white.
10 adjustable recessed fittings, also tunable, for accent lighting.
9 recessed linear diffused fittings in 4-foot and 8-foot lengths, for even, glare-free light.
44 metres of curtain grazer lighting, tunable, running along the curtains so the fabric itself glows at night.

Why DALI, and Why Tunable White

DALI is the digital standard for professional lighting. Every fitting has its own address, so each one can be dimmed on its own rather than a whole circuit at once. That is the difference between a room with one brightness and a room that can be set for dinner, for reading, or for a late evening.

Tunable white means the same fitting can be warm (2200K, close to candlelight) in the evening and cooler (up to 6000K) during the day. The trimless linears, the adjustable fittings and the curtain grazers were all chosen tunable, so they can be set to the same colour of light and a room does not end up with every fitting looking slightly different.
