KNX is the worldwide open standard for home and building automation (ISO/IEC 14543-3). Lighting, curtains, AC, sensors and keypads from many different certified manufacturers all work together on one wired bus, programmed in the KNX Association's own ETS software. There is no single central processor that everything depends on — each device holds its own logic, so switching and dimming keep working on their own.

For most homes we design in Ahmedabad and Rajkot, KNX is where we start. It covers lighting, dimming, curtains, AC, sensors and scenes on one system, it is the most cost-effective of the three platforms we install, and because it is an open standard you are never locked to one manufacturer — any certified KNX integrator can maintain or extend it in future. From there we look at whether Crestron or Lutron should be added for what KNX does not do as well.

Yes — KNX is usually the answer. For the same 3BHK scope, a KNX system comes to about ₹5 lakh, against about ₹8.3 lakh on Lutron and ₹14 lakh on Crestron (see our real Ahmedabad prices). Start with lighting, curtains and AC, and add rooms or features later: new KNX devices join the same bus without replacing anything.

We are a KNX Gold Partner, listed in the official KNX installer directory. For KNX switches, keypads, actuators and room controllers we install EAE and Eelectron, and for designer keypads Basalte (Fibonacci, Sentido) and Black Nova in their KNX versions. Because every one of them is certified to the same KNX standard, they can be mixed on one system — for example Basalte keypads in the living areas and EAE or Eelectron elsewhere.

When audio-visual is central to the project — a home theatre, music in every room, video distributed around the house — or when you want one touch panel and one app controlling everything across a large villa. KNX does not have to be replaced: it often stays as the lighting and sensor layer, connected to Crestron through a gateway so both run off the same scenes.

When lighting quality comes first: Lutron's dimming is exceptionally smooth on LED fittings, its Palladiom keypads and motorised shades are designed as architectural finishes, and RadioRA 3 is wireless, which makes it our usual choice for renovating a finished home without rewiring. Lutron handles lighting and shading only, so for AC, AV and security it is paired with KNX or Crestron.

Yes, and on larger projects it is common: KNX for lighting, curtains and sensors, Lutron where dimming quality matters most, and Crestron on top for AV and a single interface. They are connected through gateways and programmed as one system, so you use one set of scenes rather than three separate apps. Smaller homes are usually better served by one platform specified properly.

Yes, but it is easiest during construction or a major renovation, because standard KNX runs on its own bus cable to every switch location. Where cable cannot reach, KNX RF is a wireless option. If the home is finished and rewiring is not possible, Lutron RadioRA 3 is often the simpler route — we will tell you which fits after a site visit.

Most existing HVAC and lighting systems can be integrated. Some equipment is easier to adapt than others—we assess compatibility during the site audit and propose integration strategies or hardware upgrades if needed. The goal is to build on what you have rather than replace everything.

It depends on your existing wiring and the scope of automation. For new construction, we run cables during the build. For retrofits, we often use existing conduits or plan discrete surface pathways. Modern wireless sensors reduce wiring needs, but some hardwired infrastructure is typically required for reliability and code compliance.

For a 1–2 bedroom flat, often yes — they are do-it-yourself products you can buy online and install yourself, cheap and with no rewiring. From three bedrooms up, usually not: the signal struggles through RCC walls and floors, the home network has to carry dozens of devices, control often depends on the internet and the maker's cloud, lights, AC and curtains end up in separate apps, and many retrofit brands are recent arrivals that come and go — while Lutron (since 1961) and Crestron (since 1972) are the pioneers, widely regarded as the world's leading names in automation and proven over decades of installations worldwide. For a 3BHK or larger home we recommend professional-grade automation — KNX, Crestron or Lutron — including professional wireless such as Lutron RadioRA 3 where a finished home cannot be rewired. We integrate existing or new security systems into your automation control interface — alarms, sensors, cameras, and door access all appear in the same app and keypads alongside lighting and climate. This creates a unified ecosystem instead of multiple apps.

KNX, Crestron and Lutron are designed to work with professional-grade systems. Some consumer devices (Sonos, certain WiFi switches) can be integrated, but others may not be compatible. We assess your existing devices during the design phase and advise on what works together.

Typically 6–12 weeks from consultation to handover, depending on project scope and coordination with construction/contractors. Design and approval might take 2 weeks, installation 3–4 weeks, and programming/testing another 2 weeks. Large or complex projects may take longer.

Yes. We coordinate with architects, contractors, and MEP consultants to run cables and infrastructure before finishing work. We can also retrofit into completed spaces if needed, though planning automation early is always cleaner. Tell us about your timeline and we'll adapt our approach.

We try to minimize disruption—most wiring is routed through walls and cable trays before they're enclosed. For retrofits, we plan cable runs to avoid visible damage. Installation teams work around your schedule, and the handover day is usually the most visible part. Most families adjust quickly once they understand the new system.

During initial site audit and design, yes. During installation, our teams can work with or without you present, but we recommend a representative be available for questions and final walk-throughs. Handover training definitely requires your presence (or a designee's) so you understand how to use the system.

Absolutely. KNX, Crestron and Lutron all scale—you can expand the system room-by-room, add zones, integrate new devices, or even add a second property without replacing what you already have. This is one of the key advantages over consumer systems.

You can adjust brightness, temperature, and scenes directly from keypads or the mobile app. More complex changes (adding new automations, creating scenes, editing schedules) are done via the app interface or you can call us for assistance. Most adjustments are simple enough that you won't need professional help.

We include 12 months of support with every installation—troubleshooting, adjustments, software updates, and training as needed. After that, support is available on an as-needed basis or through optional maintenance plans. We're available by phone and email during business hours.

Hardware typically comes with 1–3 year manufacturer warranties. We cover installation defects. Optional maintenance plans include priority service and discounted repairs. Most systems are very reliable, but we're here if something needs attention.
