How Much Does Home Automation Cost in Ahmedabad?
Straight answer first, because that is what you came for. These are installed totals from systems we have actually quoted in Gujarat — hardware, cabling, programming, commissioning and handover — not manufacturer list prices and not the cheapest possible version of each.
Every number on this page is one we have quoted. For the line-by-line build-up behind them — processors, keypads, wiring, apps — see our full cost breakdown.
What Actually Moves the Number
Two homes of the same size can differ by several lakh. Four things account for most of it:
- How many rooms are controlled, not how big the house is. Cost tracks the number of switching points, keypads and zones. A large house with lighting in six rooms costs less than a smaller one with lighting everywhere.
- Which platform. On a comparable 3BHK the same scope comes to roughly ₹14,00,000 on Crestron, ₹8,30,000 on Lutron and ₹5,00,000 on KNX. See the platform comparison for what that buys.
- New build or retrofit. Cabling during construction is cheap. Retrofitting an occupied home means either chasing walls or going wireless — and wireless avoids the disruption at a hardware premium.
- How deep the AV goes. Background music in three rooms is a different project from distributed video, a home theatre and video conferencing. AV integration ranges from ₹1,20,000 to ₹4,00,000 on a 3BHK depending on that answer.
Cost by Platform, Same Scope
The clearest way to see platform cost is to hold the scope constant. This is the same 3BHK specification priced three ways:
| Component | Crestron | Lutron | KNX |
|---|---|---|---|
| Processor | ₹3,00,000 | ₹2,50,000 | ₹1,50,000 |
| Keypads (8 units) | ₹2,40,000 | ₹1,20,000 | ₹50,000 |
| Lighting control | ₹1,60,000 | ₹1,60,000 | ₹80,000 |
| AV integration | ₹4,00,000 | ₹1,50,000 | ₹1,20,000 |
| Installation | ₹2,00,000 | ₹1,50,000 | ₹1,00,000 |
| Total | ₹14,00,000 | ₹8,30,000 | ₹5,00,000 |
The cheapest column is not automatically the wrong answer, and the most expensive is not automatically the right one. Crestron costs more largely because of processor and keypad hardware and its native AV distribution — which is worth paying for on a property that needs deep AV integration, and is money wasted on one that does not. We say so on projects where a smaller system would do the job.
What a Quote From Us Includes
- System design — lighting scenes, automation logic, AV routing and keypad layout, reviewed with you before anything is ordered
- All hardware, cabling and containment
- Installation, programming and commissioning
- A full day of handover training so the house is usable by everyone in it
- Support after handover
What it does not include: civil work, false ceilings, electrical work outside the automation scope, or the light fittings themselves where a separate lighting designer has specified them. Those are real costs and we would rather name them than have them appear later.

Ranges only take you so far. Send the floor plan or the site details and we will scope a system around the property and quote it properly — including telling you where a smaller system would do the job.
Common Questions
What is the cheapest way to start?
Lighting control on its own. It is the layer people use most, it changes how a home feels day to day, and it can be added without rewiring. Plan the cabling so automation, AV and climate can be added later against the same design rather than redoing the work.
Does the price include installation and programming?
Yes — every figure here is an installed total. Installation and programming typically account for ₹1,50,000 to ₹5,00,000 of a project. A quote that leaves them out is not comparable to one that includes them, which is worth checking when you compare us against anyone else.
Can it be done in phases?
Yes, and it is often sensible. The decisions that have to be made early are the cabling and the platform, because those are expensive to change later. Rooms, zones and devices can be added over time.
Are there hidden costs?
There should not be. We quote fixed, and the exclusions above are stated up front rather than discovered mid-project. Where a change genuinely arises — a client adds a room, a fitting changes — it is priced and agreed before the work happens.
